The South Coast Access Exchange (The SCAX) is a neutral meet point for carriers and Internet providers to interconnect with each other locally for the purpose of converging local internet traffic, keeping it within the region. This saves all carriers and Internet providers in the area capacity on longhaul links out of the area preventing unnecessary congestion, improving the Internet experience for all, while adding resiliancy for all participants in the exchange.
